Food Scientist

With a degree in Food Science and Technology and multiple years of experience in product development, research, and leadership; Viral strives to push the public’s perception about the science of food. 

Activist

Viral Shukla is an activist in the science of food. Viral has served as Director on the Board of Directors of the Institute of Food Technologists, Consultant on the American Association for Precision Medicine Coronavirus Taskforce, and Advisor on the College of Agriculture Dean’s Council at Cal Poly Pomona. Viral strives to push the public’s perception about the science of food. He has given multiple addresses to California governance including state legislators, lieutenant governors, and academic chancellors.

Researcher

A published researcher, Viral has conducted research funded by the National Science Foundation and California Agricultural Research Institute. His multidisciplinary research includes the use of food nanotechnology for the development of lutein nutraceuticals, optimization of formulation of gluten-free pasta, creation and feasibility of edible food coatings, among many others. He has showcased his work at the international level and has received several awards for his work.

Culinologist

Viral holds a degree in Culinology under the requirements of the Research Chef's Association. As Technical Lead of System of Food Evolution, Viral developed food products with his team for various competitions. His team placed highly on a international level with many of their products. Viral applies his knowledge of ingredient functionality and food processing to develop novel food products that meet consumers' needs.
